About the role:
Equipped Resources is seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused, reliable, and skilled Semi Trailer Driver to join our growing team. This role involves the safe transport of a wide range of materials and equipment—including quarry products, cement, machinery, and general freight—using our new Scania Prime Mover and trailers, all newly acquired in late 2025.
You will work across diverse environments, from public highways to construction sites and narrow access roads, playing a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of our services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safely operate heavy combination vehicles across varied environments, including highways, construction sites, and confined access locations.
* Operate Tipper Trailers, including safe use of hydraulic lifting systems to unload materials such as sand, aggregates, rubble, and fill. Assess delivery sites for hazards including overhead power lines, unstable ground, and steep slopes.
* Operate Expanding Drop Deck Trailers, including configuring and adjusting telescopic beams, securing a wide range of machinery and loads, and safely navigating tight sites while the trailer is in expanded configurations.
* Operate Cement Tankers (Dry Bulk Tankers), including loading at cement terminals or manufacturing plants, ensuring correct weight distribution, and safely operating pneumatic blower systems to unload cement powder into receiving silos.
* Maintain a strong understanding of and compliance with Chain of Responsibility (COR) requirements.
* Complete daily paperwork and documentation, including logbooks, dockets, driving hours, rest breaks, and fatigue management records in line with NHVR and relevant regulations.
* Conduct pre-start inspections and complete inspection reports for the prime mover and trailers.
* Participate in toolbox talks, incident reporting, and immediately report defects, accidents, or near misses.
* Maintain vehicle presentation through regular washing and cleaning, identifying potential issues early.
* Perform basic vehicle and trailer maintenance, general housekeeping, and assist with routine maintenance tasks
Skills and Experience
* Current HC licence
* Demonstrated experience operating Tipper, Drop Deck, and Cement Tanker trailers
* Strong understanding of load restraint and Chain of Responsibility (COR) requirements
* Front-end loader ticket
* White Card (Construction)
* Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude
* Commitment to health and safety best practices
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
