This role is classified as Level 2 role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement (with a full time equivalent base salary range of $68,239 - $89,139). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework. As a rostered shiftworker, additional shift penalty payments may apply for work performed outside of ordinary hours, including weekends and public holidays, as per the SBS Enterprise Agreement (EA). SBS may also require you to work reasonable overtime, where overtime will be paid at applicable rates in accordance with the EA. The Department The principal purpose of SBS News and Current Affairs is to provide the most accurate, balanced, and detailed coverage of international and major domestic news across all platforms. It is our role to deliver depth and analysis to help our audiences understand often complex issues. Also, key is to showcase stories from within our many communities that reflect constructively on multiculturalism & Indigenous affairs. The Role The NACA Library supports News and Current Affairs content output across all platforms. Our core work focus revolves delivering on research requests for journalists and producers as well as curating, cataloguing and archiving footage. Library staff work within a roster which includes public holidays. In this role you will: Add accurate metadata to Arabic News digital content and footage, ensuring correct details for world leaders, politicians, and key figures are recorded and updated. Translate journalists’ scripts into English to enable bilingual searchability across the archive. Review and select RAW footage for archiving, applying editorial guidelines and knowledge of SBS broadcast requirements. Liaise regularly with the Arabic Digital team to ensure delivery and coordination of video content. Efficiently manage journalist footage requests, navigating digital systems to retrieve, archive, and deliver content. Collaborate with the newsroom, digital teams, and Library colleagues to prioritise workloads, resolve issues, and support team initiatives, including training new staff as required. About You We are looking for someone who brings: Excellent written and spoken Arabic language fluency. including understanding different Arabic dialects, to be able to work effectively with in-language content. Demonstrated data entry experience. Good knowledge of news, current affairs, and sport. Strong organisational, research and analytical skills.
