We are seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Service Person to carry out fueling, greasing and servicing of our heavy machinery, to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This is a great opportunity to be part of a small, multi-skilled team and make a valuable contribution to our operation, 130km from Mt Isa.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent you will service and refuel our heavy vehicle fleet, mobile crushing engines and other diesel equipment, across our open pit mining operation, processing area and bore fields. This is a day shift only position, however you will start and finish one to two hours prior to the operating teams.
Identify, report and act on all hazards in compliance with safety and health management system.
Conduct daily and other scheduled planned maintenance and operational inspections and services.
Replace air filters, refuel, checking and maintaining all fluid levels, lubricating parts. Hose inspections.
Manage stock levels of oils and consumables.
Weekly tyre inspections.
Assist outsourced heavy vehicle maintenance contractors when onsite for routine servicing and field breakdown repairs.
Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of all areas of the plants and non-process infrastructure.
Skills and Experience
Experience in operating a service truck to carry out daily pre-start and periodic servicing and fueling.
Vehicle maintenance skills.
Knowledge of a variety of heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders and trucks.
Demonstrated application of safe working procedures and inspection techniques.
Working at Heights and Confined Space qualifications.
First Aid / CPR training.
Experience and comfortable working in remote location on FIFO roster.

8/6 roster – FIFO from Townsville, Cairns, or Brisbane or DIDO from Mount Isa to our small village in Dajarra.
