The School
At Fairview Primary School (PS), we strive to provide a rich learning environment, to inspire all children to achieve their personal best, both academically and socially. We do this by working hard to achieve our school motto of 'A fair view of all things' and following our ethos of 'CARE'. 'CARE' is central to our practice at Fairview PS and is the basis for the language of our school: At Fairview PS we cooperate, we strive to achieve, and we show respect and enthusiasm.
As an Independent Public School, part of the Western Australian Department of Education, we use the autonomy the system provides us to best meet the needs of our students. A point of difference for our school is our whole-school pastoral care and literacy focus. Skills and strategies to engage in our social world are actively taught. Positive behaviour is the expectation, and inevitable conflict is managed through restorative practices. We believe that no child will achieve its potential unless learning occurs in a nurturing environment by people who care. We pride ourselves on having a calm, caring and respectful school.
The Role
Fairview PS is seeking a primary teacher with exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating a natural ability to communicate effectively and foster genuine relationships with parents, students, and colleagues. As a primary teacher at Fairview PS, you will promptly establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment, set high expectations, and cultivate a growth mindset, while nurturing students' social and emotional development.
Ideally, you will exhibit exemplary teaching skills, a strong motivation to excel, and a commitment to delivering best practices. The capacity to thrive in an environment characterised by whole-school connected practice, collaborative team structures, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth is highly valued.
As a member of our team, you will leverage high-impact teaching strategies, including a clear understanding of an explicit approach to teaching and bring experience in designing and delivering engaging literacy and numeracy programmes. An understanding of differentiation to meet diverse student needs is highly valued, along with proficiency in utilising various assessment tools to inform progress, provide constructive feedback, and guide future classroom planning.
The ability to teach in an area of interest such as Physical Education, Technologies, or Art would be highly regarded.
