Our Federal Government Client is looking for a Lead Content Designer to join their team. The Content Designer will promote modifications to the web services, manage web content, identify opportunities to consolidate, simplify, streamline, and continually improve our intranet footprints. They will support web publishers, Users, and Managers to embrace and adopt services.
Content Designers ensure that quality content is being developed across teams, and that it aligns with the strategic objectives of the organisation while meeting the needs of users.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote change. Provide subject matter expertise to undertake complex web content research, authoring, editing, layout, publication, monitoring, and review cloud-related web content. Collaborate with and support cloud technicians, managers, IT security, web publishers, and users, to ensure the web content is current, compliant, concise, relevant, accessible, and intuitive on multiple intranets. Support continual improvement practices and ensure changes to web content are approved and the information reflects the organisation's core values. Identify and support the adoption of web functionality, usage, and reinforcement of changes. Work with cloud technicians to support and provide direction regarding the establishment of a new intranet. Identify and investigate any web content security concerns, configuration, and maintenance of system software to ensure optimal data security. Work within legislation, principles, and work practices including management of corporate information in accordance with the Privacy Act, the Digital Transformation Agency's Digital Service Standard, the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, and compliance with the Australian Government Information Security Manual. Technical Skills Required Highly skilled in administering Drupal and SharePoint content management systems. Installing and configuring open source and/or commercial software packages (e.g., based on PHP, Python, Java). Drafting, authoring, and conducting editorial review of web content supplied by or created in collaboration with domain experts. Working with business areas and subject matter experts to turn their knowledge into consistently written and presented web-based content, considering audience needs. Understanding and enabling web content accessibility and the need to adjust writing styles for a web audience. Documenting daily work (steps taken, reasons, and outcomes) to ensure transition of knowledge to the Commonwealth and to enable repeatability of procedures and compliance with relevant standards, including the agency's record-keeping responsibilities.
