Support young women who are pregnant or parenting in 24/7 accommodation and outreach programs at Fullarton, Morphett Vale, Blair Athol locations, and young people experiencing homelessness in Elizabeth South.





Centacare is looking for caring and committed Support Workers to join our casual pool across several of our 24/7 accommodation programs. These programs offer support to young people (including young mums) who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Each site provides a warm and therapeutic space where clients can feel safe, supported, and empowered.



About the Programs:



You could work across one or more of our sites, including:

* Carlow Place – For young people aged 15–17 needing emergency or longer-term housing.
* Coolock House & Malvern Place – For young women (up to age 25) who are pregnant or parenting.
* Hannah Place & Louise Place – For young mums up to age 18 needing extra support.

We’ll match you with shifts based on your experience and strengths.



What You'll Be Doing:

* Build trusting, respectful relationships with young people.
* Run a safe, calm home environment during your shift (including basic cooking & cleaning).
* Support young people to stay safe and develop life skills.
* Keep clear case notes and communicate with your team.
* Respond to daily needs with a trauma-informed and client-focused approach.



What We’re Looking For:



Must-haves:

* Certificate IV in Community Services (or similar).
* Experience working with young people in areas like homelessness, youth justice, mental health, pregnancy, or substance misuse.
* Great understanding of trauma-informed care and youth development.
* A valid driver’s licence, First Aid/CPR and DHS Working with Children Check

Nice-to-haves:

* Experience with H2H or Penelope systems.
* Knowledge of how domestic violence and trauma affect young people and children.
