Culinary Director Role Overview

About the Position:
* We are seeking an experienced Head Chef with strong leadership skills and culinary expertise to oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, presentation, and quality control.
* The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing seasonal menus, managing stock control and supplier relationships, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
* Hire, lead, train, and develop kitchen staff to ensure high performance and a positive team culture.
* Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, service, and workflow management.
* Create and maintain seasonal menus, specials, and recipes that reflect the venue's style.
* Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen meet presentation and quality standards.
* Manage stock control, ordering, costings, and supplier relationships.
* Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and OH&S regulations.
* Ensure equipment is being maintained and functional.
* Monitor and manage food and labour costs to meet business objectives.
* Work closely with management to plan events, functions, and menu development.
* Ensure the kitchen is clean, organised, and operating efficiently at all times.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a similar role.
* Strong culinary knowledge and passion for high-quality food.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience with rostering, budgeting, and ordering.
* Knowledge and implementation of strict food safety standards.
* Creativity and a commitment to continuous improvement.
