As a part of our growth strategy, we have an opportunity for a Systems Engineering Manager, to join our Melbourne based business. This role reports to the Director Technical Services.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, hard-working, experienced Systems Engineering Manager who has managed engineering functions across a range of sectors and is seeking their next challenge to develop their career in a renowned worldwide business.
The Systems Engineering Manager, is responsible for delivering all engineering activities within the program in line with the program schedule. This is done through managing all the engineering teams to ensure the design is maturing as planned.
Principal Responsibilities
- Management of control account including monthly status reporting
- Preparation of monthly/quarterly technical performance measures
- Management and ultimate responsibility for the requirements and validation
- Provide technical support to the Project Director and Governance Board
- Monitor the day-to-day engineering operations such as requirements, verification and validation
- Guide and coach department directors and program managers to enhance engineering literacy, including guidance with engineering process and execution
- Interact with key customer stakeholders to ensure successful execution of the contract
- Performing adhoc analysis pro-actively or as directed, to provide performance insights that aid growth and focus appropriate resource allocation
- Develop strong and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effectiveness of communications and resolution of issues
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor of Engineering
- More than 5 years Engineering experience in engineering management, either as Project Engineer or SEM.
- Registration on the National Engineering Register (NER)
- Experience managing budget for project or control account
- Demonstrated experience in managing a small-to-medium engineering team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated experience of working collaboratively and influencing across multiple stakeholder groups
- Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision
