This role is part of our Casual Pool, supporting workforce flexibility and service delivery across the CYS program. While casual pool roles do not guarantee regular or ongoing hours, applicants must be able to provide written confirmation of consistent availability. Employees who do not meet availability requirements without reasonable cause may not be utilised.
You will provide high-quality, trauma-informed, and person-centred support to children and young people with complex care needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide person-centred support to children and young people with complex needs
* Uphold and advocate for the rights, safety, and wellbeing of participants
* Support daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and community engagement
* Implement individual care plans and behaviour support strategies
* Complete accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes and incident reports
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and other stakeholders
* Participate in training, supervision, and professional development opportunities
* Support participants during overnight awake or sleepover shifts (where required)

Desired Skills and Experience
* Demonstrated experience supporting people with complex disability and/or children and young people with complex needs
* Understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework and NDIS Code of Conduct, or experience delivering client-centred services focused on individual outcomes
* Practical experience working within a person-centred and active support model
* Understanding of, or experience with, overnight support requirements (awake or sleepover shifts)
* Experience working within a team, managing responsibilities, and addressing issues in line with organisational policies and the Code of Conduct
* Strong time management and organisational skills
* Well-developed written and computer skills, including accurate shift documentation
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* A resilient, patient, and flexible approach to work

Qualifications & Requirements
* Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or a related field (or willingness to obtain)
* Minimum 12 months' experience supporting individuals with complex needs
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDIS-endorsed)
* Current National Police Check (issued within the last 6 months)
* Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration
* Valid Australian Driver's Licence
* Current First Aid Certificate
* Medication Administration Certificate
* Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module – 'Quality, Safety and You'
