* Work Type: Part-Time – 3 Days per week (22.8 Hours) Fixed Term Contract to 30 June 2028
* Classification: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 – Social and Community Services Employee, Level 4.1 – 4.4
* Total Remuneration: $44.58 – $47.97 per hour, plus 12% Superannuation, 17.5% leave loading and the option to salary sacrifice up to $15,900 to increase your take home pay
* Location: Brisbane – travel as required

About the role
The Projects Support Officer position reports directly to the Lead of Disability Reforms and works as part of a team where interdependencies and collaboration with colleagues, QDN members and internal and external stakeholders are critical to the successful delivery of projects, services and activities.
The Projects Support Officer is accountable for the delivery of work assignments and projects, recognising when matters need to be referred to management for resolution. They will work to ensure the timely achievement of deliverables, within agreed budgets and performance levels. The position may require some travel.
QDN actively works to influence change around key issues of inclusion for people with disability and their communities. This is a hands-on role actively engaging with people with disability and your work will have considerable impact. You can expect to be consulting with our members on issues to inform both our policy and project work. QDN’s projects and activities cover a diverse range of areas which includes disability reforms, employment, housing, health, community participation, energy, leadership and disaster preparedness.
What will you do in the role?
The appointee will fulfil the accountabilities of this role in accordance with human rights principles and QDN’s ethics, principles and values as reflected in the organisation’s strategic plan 2024-28. The Projects Support Officer will be responsible for:
* Assist and support the Lead with the delivery of engagement activities to ensure projects are delivered to align with agreed objectives and requirements.
* Assist and support the delivery of pieces of work through policy and other projects including delivery of activities, engagement with members and people with disability, tracking data and information and administration in conjunction with Lead and other relevant teams.
* Support effective communication and liaison with broad range of stakeholders in QDN’s work including internal staff, management, customers, consultants, and other external project stakeholders,
* Assist with the preparation of project reporting mechanisms and ensure they are communicated with internal and external stakeholders as required
* Contribute to commitment to continuous improvement culture through identifying and executing appropriate change
* Contribute to growth and reputation of QDN including identifying opportunities for business development and marketing
* Administrative duties as required, such as recording and production of agenda/minutes, managing a mailbox, booking interpreters and other project support functions as required
* Fulfil this role in accordance with QDN’s policies and procedures
* Carry out other duties as deemed reasonable and appropriate to the role as directed by the Lead
What will you bring to the role?
* Sound level of knowledge and awareness of the disability sector.
* Experience supporting projects in the disability sector or related area.
* Demonstrated ability to engage and maintain strong networks and partnerships with key stakeholders, including key service providers and voluntary organisations in communities.
* Demonstrated core communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to:
o build and maintain effective working relationships, which may include supporting co-designers or volunteers
o provide advice to a range of stakeholders, including QDN members, supporters and allies, Government and Community stakeholders
o effectively communicate information and ideas and work cooperatively with others
o work as part of a team in a complex and changing environment, and ability to manage competing demands within limited timeframes
* Ability to work within established procedures, towards outcomes within defined constraints, manage competing priorities and solve problems using established guidelines.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercising appropriate initiative and judgement to solve problems and seek guidance where appropriate.
* Experience working with Microsoft 365 and other software applications.
* Ability to work to identify business needs and provide recommendations about system solutions.
