About The Role
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) at the Burketown Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC) provides advanced, autonomous nursing care to the Burketown community and across the North West Hospital and Health Service. Operating both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the NP delivers comprehensive, evidence-based health care to individuals and families.
The NP is responsible for providing advanced professional and clinical leadership in the coordination and delivery of comprehensive and complex care, education and consultancy and portfolio management to ensure safe practice and high quality outcomes.
Requirements
Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
It is a mandatory requirement to have a Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) or equivalent postgraduate qualification required for Nurse Practitioner Endorsement with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
A period of probation may apply.
Incentives and Benefits
Base salary ranges between $149,259 and $155,831 p.a. (Nurse Grade 8).
*****% employer superannuation contribution.
Long Service Leave and Sick Leave accrual.
Tax savings through salary sacrificing options are also available.
For 1 year, isolation bonus of AUD$3,500; 2 years, AUD$10,500; and 3rd year onward, AUD$7,000 per year.
In downtime, 2 return airfares p.a. (including spouse/dependents) to the nearest east coast provincial city with 5 weeks recreation leave and 17.5% loading/bonus.
Plus 2 weeks p.a., travel as required and enrolment and conference costs for approved courses and conferences.
Staff accommodation (if eligible) or a private rental subsidy of AUD$***** per week for up to 17 months.

Burketown is located approximately 546km north of Mount Isa on the Albert River. It offers a relaxed lifestyle and is affectionately known as the 'Barramundi Capital of Australia'. Burketown has access to excellent barramundi fishing locations and the opportunity to visit the remarkable Boodjamulla National Park.

The Burketown Primary Health Clinic is a rural health service based at Burketown. The service provides a comprehensive range of health services to the Burketown community. These include emergency care, community health, general practice services with the support of the Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS), and supports visiting health services including allied health.
