About the position:
This is an opportunity for a highly skilled and strategic Applications Specialist to join our Centre of Excellence (COE) in the Pacific Zone. The role involves driving enablement and adoption of EcoStruxure Automation Expert (EAE).
The position requires working closely with sales teams and EAE Pre-sales Engineers to develop applications for customers using EAE. The Applications Specialist will have deep technical expertise and strong communication skills to support sales and customer projects throughout the development cycle.
This role involves travel and client presentations, with a vehicle provided for customer-related travel.
Key responsibilities:
Provide technical applications support to accelerate sales growth using EAE.
Act as the technical expert at the customer to define and implement automation solutions.
Identify technical requirements and constraints for adopting EAE and propose suitable solutions.
Demonstrate the technical advantages and disadvantages of applications using EAE.
Support co-engineering applications and lead the development of innovative solutions.
Engineer and execute application conversions and migrations to EAE.
Contribute to Schneider Electric’s knowledge base through guides, white papers, and success stories.
Identify needs for new offerings and work with relevant departments to develop solutions using EAE.
About you:
You are an industrial automation expert with the ability to build optimized solution architectures. You possess in-depth knowledge of hardware, software, communication networks, and integration of new and existing control systems.
You are self-motivated, driven, and have a proven track record of leveraging technical expertise to drive sales growth. A tertiary qualification in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields, with at least 5 years of automation experience, is required.
Key skills and experience:
Proven ability in code development and system architecture design for industrial applications.
Hands-on experience with industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, etc.).
Expertise in PLC programming, SCADA/DCS, and industrial networking.
Experience designing large-scale automation solutions.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
Optional but advantageous: IT-focused software development experience, knowledge of IIoT, object-oriented programming, virtualization, and networking protocols.
