 
        
        Key Responsibilities
 1. Assist in the design of the sites using permaculture principles.
 2. Implement landscape designs including earthworks, installation of retaining walls, water
features, irrigation and key features.
 1. Build healthy soils through regular testing, recycling waste products on site and using low
cost, locally accessible inputs.
 1. Plan and implement all aspects of production including selection of suitable varieties, bed
preparation, seedling production, cultivation, pest/disease management, harvest, packaging
and delivery to meet or exceed targets.
 1. Collaborate with the Manager to develop and deliver workshops, demonstrations, talks and
informational materials that promote sustainable practices in the production of food and other
materials.
 1. Maintain all machinery and equipment in safe working order.
 2. Keep accurate, detailed and up-to-date financial and production records.
 3. Work with the Manager on strategic planning, operational procedures, infrastructure
development projects and new urban agriculture initiatives.
 1. Champion the business and the principles it seeks to promote through networking.
 2. Actively participate in WHS consultation processes, comply with safe work instructions and
procedures, identify and report hazards, incidents, injuries and near misses to keep yourself
and everyone else safe.
Key Performance Indicators
Performance will be measured against the delivery of the key responsibilities as listed above.
Selection Criteria
• First Aid Certificate
• Current NSW Driver's License
• White card
• Permaculture Design course OR
• Completed a satisfactory period of apprenticeship in horticulture and possesses a recognised
trade qualification OR
• Not less than 3 years' experience in practical horticulture and possesses the skills, knowledge
and experience to perform work within the scope of this level.
