The Role
Centrecare's Private Rental Advocacy Service provides short to medium-term support (3-6 months) to clients in private rental accommodation at risk of homelessness. This includes addressing rental arrears, consultation, and underlying tenancy vulnerabilities. The role involves working with families and individuals experiencing domestic violence, substance challenges, mental health issues, employment difficulties, and tenancy responsibilities. The Case Worker will link families to relevant services to promote employment, health, financial management, and social integration for long-term, stable housing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct assessments and informal counselling to improve personal, social, and health outcomes.
2. Deliver therapeutic and skill development services, including assessments, counselling, outreach, capacity building, and referrals.
3. Provide access to recreational activities for children and families where appropriate.
4. Establish networks with community and service providers for optimal client outcomes.
