Looking for a Motorcycle Mechanic to join our team. Preferably fully qualified but will accept someone who is part way through their apprenticeship.
We are a small family run business in a small town with a large customer base from all areas.
We sell motorcycles, power equipment and garden equipment and have a workshop to service all of the equipment we sell.
Responsibilities
· Identify problems with the motorbike/equipment they are working on
· Discuss issues, solutions and estimation of the cost of repairs with the workshop manager so they can talk it over with the customer
· Carry out routine services and safety checks on equipment
· Disassemble and reassemble engines, brakes, transmissions, steering gear, etc
· Liase with the parts department about the replacement parts that are required for the job
· Once parts come in, ensure they are booked out to the correct job
· Test drive products
· Test components and systems using specialised testing equipment
· Tune and adjust products using specialised equipment
· Keep detailed records of work completed and time it took to complete tasks
Skills required for this position
· Knowledge of a wide range of motorcycles, power equipment, chainsaws, etc
· Enjoy practical and manual activities
· Carry out all work in a safe manner
· Strong attention to detail
· Reading, writing, computer skills
· Be able to work with electric and hand tools
· Aptitude for mechanical/technical activities
· Good physical fitness and eyesight
· Ability to ride motorbike
· Be willing to take direction
· Be willing to work independently as well as in a team
· Get along well with others
· Be a good communicator
Main work will be on motorcycles but there may be a variety of things that you may repair such as:
· Four wheelers
· wheel motorbikes
· SXS Pioneer
· Push and ride on mowers
· Generators
· Mobility scooters
· Some small engine like brushcutters, chainsaws, blowers
· Need to be able to pre deliver the new equipment
Our business primarily services Honda, Beta and Husqvarna equipment but there may be a variety of other brands
