Join a pre-production gold mining company transitioning from exploration into operations, with first mining activities commencing shortly and production targeted for later this year.
This is a newly created role where you will be operating with minimal existing structure or resources, so will have the opportunity to build, shape and own how things are done moving forward.
This role will have regular site engagement and will travel to the site for approximately one week per month.
Responsibilities will include:
* Building and owning month-end processes, with a focus on timely and accurate cost reporting
* Developing inventory and metallurgical accounting models (including gold-in-circuit and production reconciliation)
* Preparing and maintaining production cost reporting, variance analysis, and operational insights
* Partnering with site leadership to understand cost drivers and operational performance
* Supporting budgeting, reforecasting, and cashflow modelling
* Establishing reporting frameworks and dashboards (initially Excel-based)
* Supporting the rollout of ERP systems and improving financial processes over time
About You:
* Experience in gold or other base metals mining is crucial
* Exposure to metallurgical accounting, production accounting, or inventory / metal reconciliation
* Demonstrated ability to build or improve financial models, processes, or reporting frameworks
* Strong Excel capability, with confidence building models from first principles
* The ability to work autonomously and partner effectively with operational stakeholders
