The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation Industrial Union of Workers Perthis the professional and industrial union representing nurses and midwives across Western Australia.

We advocate for safe staffing, fair pay and conditions, professional standards, and a strong public health system that supports both our members and the communities they serve. Our work spans industrial advocacy, professional representation, policy influence, and member services — all underpinned by strong governance, integrity, and purpose.

About the role

As Director, Corporate Services, you will provide executive leadership across the union's core corporate functions.

Executive financial leadership
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and long-term sustainability planning
* Ensure strong financial controls, transparency, and audit readiness
* Deliver clear, trusted financial advice to the State Secretary, Executive Director, and senior leadership
Governance, risk and compliance
* Maintain robust governance frameworks, policies, delegations, and assurance processes
* Lead enterprise risk management and compliance oversight
* In partnership with senior leaders, support Council governance processes and reporting requirements
Technology and digital resilience
* Oversee secure, reliable, and fit-for-purpose digital platforms
* Strengthen cyber security, data governance, and systems resilience
* Enable digital tools that improve efficiency, service delivery, and member experience
Leadership and culture
* Lead and develop staff across corporate services functions
* Build a professional, accountable, and service-oriented culture
* Partner effectively with operational and strategic leaders across the union
What success looks like

Within the first 12–24 months, you will have:

* Delivered clean audits and reliable, trusted financial reporting
* Embedded strong governance, risk, and compliance frameworks
* Improved systems reliability and organisational enablement
* Reduced organisational risk exposure and strengthened resilience
About you

You are a senior executive — or ready to step into an executive-level role — with:

* CA or CPA qualification (essential)
* Strong financial and governance capability in complex or regulated environments
* Proven experience leading corporate services or similar portfolios
* Sound judgement, integrity, and confidence in executive decision-making
* A collaborative leadership style with a strong service mindset
* The ability to balance discipline, compliance, and accountability with organisational purpose
* Experience in a union, member-based, not-for-profit, public sector, or health environment will be highly regarded. Additional qualifications or training in Accounting, Business, Corporate Accountability / ESG, or Law will also be valued.
