ROLE DESCRIPTION
Music is an integral and vibrant part of life at Nagle Catholic College. Held in high regard, the College is now seeking an innovative educator to continue to build the College Music program into the future. The successful applicant will have a genuine love of music and be able to share their enthusiasm with students.
The Head of Music is a member of the leadership team within the College community. They are primarily responsible for overseeing the academic music program and coordinating the extra-curricular program, including overseeing the peripatetic program, providing private music lessons for students in Years 7 to 12, and coordinating ensembles and bands. In addition, the Head of Music is expected to promote music performance in the College community as well as through student participation in local school and community events, taking music beyond the classroom and facilitating students' growth.
The focus of music for the future at Nagle Catholic College is to develop a broad and dynamic program and a wide selection of choral and instrumental ensembles, orchestral groups and bands.
The successful applicant will need to possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and be committed to an environment where the use of emerging technologies and other pedagogical initiatives are seen as exciting opportunities to enhance learning. The Head of Music should be a creative person with a genuine passion for promoting student performance both within and outside the College, with due deference to maintaining and building the College ethos. The Head of Music will be responsible for fostering an appreciation of music and establishing a standard of excellence for this art through performance within the school community.
The Head of Music reports to the Head of Learning Area – Arts and has a close professional association with the Deputy Principal. The Head of Music is responsible for the development, coordination and administration of the College Music program.

* Current registration with Teachers Registration Board Western Australia
