The Role
A great career opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate to join our Insurance team in Melbourne in the area of Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers and Liability. This includes providing advice on indemnity, liability, quantum and strategy for resolution and defending claims against solicitors, barristers, engineers, construction professionals, accountants and other financial services, estate agents and medical practitioners. In this role you will be working with Insurance Partners who are independently recognised as experts in their field.
Responsibilities will include the following:
* File management including meeting deadlines and managing documents
* Reviewing evidence and preparing advices on indemnity, liability and quantum
* Communicating with clients both in writing and verbally
* Identifying issues, briefing experts and analysing opinion
* Preparing court documents, including statements of evidence
* Drafting correspondence and communicating with other practitioners
* Preparing for, managing online processes and appearing in Court
* Briefing and liaising with counsel
* Business development and nurturing client relationships
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years' post admission experience. While prior insurance experience is advantageous, it's not essential. We are open to applicants who bring strong, demonstratable expertise in litigation, construction or regulatory. If you're a seasoned litigator looking to broaden your practice, we'd love to hear from you.
The successful applicant will be an integral member of a cohesive and collaborative team, have strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage, maintain and grow client relations. You will have the ability to prioritise tasks, display initiative, good attention to detail and a proven history of meeting deadlines.
