About the role
Apex Civil Engineers is seeking a talented Civil/Stormwater Design Engineer (junior to senior level) to join our team in Burwood, NSW. This is a full-time position, commencing next year, where you will play a vital role in delivering cutting-edge civil and stormwater engineering solutions for our diverse range of clients.
What you'll be doing
- Designing, modelling and managing stormwater drainage systems to mitigate flood risks and ensure optimal flow.
- On site detention design and documentation in accordance with local government standards.
- Water Sensitive Urban design and documentation.
- Subterranean water collection, management and modelling.
- Hydraulic catchment analysis and DRAINS modelling.
- TUFLOW flood modelling including flood impact assessments and reports (desirable).
- Road drainage design and aquaplaning assessment.
- Erosion & sediment control design and documentation.
- Experience with residential stormwater design and interpretation of local and national legislations.
- Public Domain Civil design including sound knowledge of AS2890.
- Civil earthworks design and 3d modelling.
- Experience in Subdivision works certificate.
- Preparing detailed civil and stormwater engineering plans (Autocad), and specifications and reports.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative engineering solutions.
- Ensuring all projects comply with relevant industry standards, regulations and safety requirements.
- Providing expert technical advice and support to clients throughout the project lifecycle.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of demonstrated experience in civil and stormwater engineering.
- Current professional member of Engineers Australia, registered as NER or working towards.
- Proficiency in hydraulic and hydrological modelling software, such as DRAINS, TUFLOW, MUSIC, CIVIL 3D.
- Demonstrated proficiency in a minimum of 3-4 software tools from DRAINS, TUFLOW, MUSIC, CIVIL 3D, AUTOCAD, and Bluebeam.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian civil engineering design standards and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and technical skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality engineering projects on time and within budget.
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with full working rights.
