The Aboriginal community engagement Lead will work with Karitane staff and other Aboriginal colleagues to support Aboriginal families to provide person centred care that is culturally safe from the point of referral and across Karitane services.The successful applicant will provide support to the Karitane team will provide input and cultural insight into the organisations vision for growth and future goals when working with Aboriginal families, directions and reviewing and implementing the Karitane Innovative Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)This role has the opportunity for flexible work locations including work from home options. Applicants must be of Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander descent, have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander cultures. An applicant’s race is a genuine occupational qualification, and exemption is claimed under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSWRelevant qualifications in health, health-related or community services discipline and / or relevant experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communitiesExperience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in healthcare or social services.Strong knowledge, connection, and understanding of Aboriginal health services, Aboriginal organisations, and other relevant and culturally safe services.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTTemporary part-time position in accordance with the Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations’ Health Employees Agreement 2019.
