We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Head of Junior School Music to lead our primary music program, in a progressive, supportive and well-resourced educational environment. This is a unique prospect for a passionate educator and accomplished musician to shape the musical journey of our youngest students, cultivating their skills, confidence, and enjoyment through a diverse and engaging curriculum. This is a full time Position of Responsibility commencing Term 1, 2026. In addition, all teaching staff are required to participate in co-curricular involvement, such as Year Level Camps. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
Lead the strategic and day-to-day direction of the Junior School music program. Teach classroom music across the Junior School, using a range of pedagogical approaches. Direct ensembles, musicals, choirs, and performance groups. Coordinate musical events, concerts, assemblies, and participation in whole-school celebrations. Collaborate with other music staff across the school to ensure continuity and progression. Foster a love of music through inclusive and engaging teaching practices. Support and mentor students of all abilities, encouraging participation and excellence. ABOUT YOU 
You are a passionate, outstanding educator who can lead by example and model exceptional practice. You are an expert in your field and have excellent knowledge of current curriculum approaches and sound teaching practices. You have a genuine passion for fostering inclusivity and ensuring all students have equal opportunities to thrive. You will also have: Relevant teaching qualifications in Music and Education Certificate of Teacher Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching A love of teaching music and desire to inspire and engage primary-aged students in their music learning, with a proven capacity for extending and enriching their experience A capacity to lead a vibrant team of educators, including classroom teachers and sessional music staff, to work effectively in a collaborative and creative learning environment Ensemble and choral conducting expertise Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in working with students, staff and parents Strong piano skills are required WHY JOIN CAMBERWELL GRAMMAR SCHOOL?
