Total Salary Package: $305,300 to $404,970 (pro rata for part time) - Excluding Attraction and Retention Incentive
Package inclusive of Base Salary $188,151 to $254,198 + Attraction and Retention Incentive + Private Practice Scheme Allowance + On-call allowance + Medical Education Expense Allowance + Superannuation (12%)

About the Role:
The Division of Women, Youth and Children (WYC) within Canberra Hospital provides a broad range of primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare services. Service provision is based on a family-centred, interdisciplinary approach to care, in partnership with consumers and other service providers.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Canberra Hospital provides tertiary level obstetrics and gynaecological services to the ACT and surrounding regions. The Centenary Hospital for Women and Children has more than 3,700 births per year and is a level 6 referral centre for high-risk pregnancies for the region.
WYC and WC are undergoing a program of continuous business improvements to inform best practices in the models of care as well as ensuring that the workforce and services are protected and sustainable. CHS are seeking permanent Staff Specialist(s) capable of generalist practice across both Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with the ability to develop special interests as a proportion of their work schedule including laparoscopic / endometriosis surgery. CHS are seeking candidates to work at Canberra Hospital and/or North Canberra Hospital.
The successful applicant/s must have RANZCOG Fellowship. They must possess excellent communication skills, an ability to collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, and a drive for teaching and Quality Improvement.
This position/s will be embedded in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit, with pro-rata on call duties and contribution to inpatient management.
Strong research links are maintained with the ANU, University of Canberra and the Australian Catholic University. All specialties are represented with the exception of organ transplantation. The hospital has well developed post graduate teaching programs. A fully equipped medical library is available on site with a large collection of hard copy and on line journals and textbooks.
The preferred candidate maybe considered for a conjoint position in ANU at an academic level commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The academic position will be held for the duration of the Canberra Health Services employment and will be subject to regular performance reviews. No remuneration is attached to the University position. The employee will be responsible to the University on academic matters and to The Canberra Hospital & Health Services / Canberra Health Services for clinical/ research matters.

- Hold Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Meet credentialing requirements and receive an Endorsed scope of clinical practice from the Medical Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC)
- Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
- Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.
