Estimator Role
Develop innovative, environmentally sustainable solutions for major construction projects across Australia. Accurate bid preparation, presentation, and follow-up of Defence sector tenders are key responsibilities.
* Prepare accurate cost estimates, including cost escalation analysis to ensure informed decision-making.
* Compile material quantity take-offs to develop bills of quantities that meet project requirements.
* Support the development of construction methodologies, programs, and submission documentation.
* Estimate costs from first principles using site productivity rates to optimize results.
* Ensure complete tender documents by identifying additional information or clarification needs through RFIs.
* Review designs and engineering specifications for cost-effectiveness.
* Validate subcontractor pricing across all service disciplines.
* Deliver detailed tenders with traceability and provide pre-contracts support.
* Coordinate team activities and conduct tender cost estimate review meetings.
* Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About You
* Engineering and resource industry experience, particularly in hydraulic/mechanical piping and equipment is essential.
* Prior Defence sector, construction, process and non-process infrastructure, and water/wastewater treatment experience is highly valued.
* Financial and commercial acumen, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities are required.
* Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar equivalents are necessary.
