Visiting Companion for Elderly Resident
The role involves providing regular social support visits to a 70-year-old male at a residential aged care facility in the Colac area.
* Accompany him on scenic drives to enjoy the beautiful landscapes around Colac.
* Have coffee with him while chatting and discussing his interests.
The volunteer will need to possess clear communication skills, be compassionate, patient, and an excellent listener.
About you: live locally or be willing to travel to Colac, over 25 with a valid driver's license and comprehensive insurance, possess clear communication skills, compassionate, patient, an excellent listener, passionate about giving back to your community, conduct yourself with open-mindedness and respect ensuring the privacy, confidentiality, and dignity of our clients are always maintained, comfortable using technology to provide feedback and connect with the Volunteer Program, commit to a flexible six-month engagement.
