Job Description
The Project Manager will deliver projects in the Corporate Occupier / Office Fit‐out space across sectors in Sydney. The role requires the ability to deliver for global corporate clients; experience with client‐side delivery and prior exposure to project delivery in principal or general contractor environments is preferred.
* Helping to establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters.
* Ensuring that the appropriate line manager is aware of quality, safety, health and environment issues.
* Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilized throughout the project.
* Project planning, including producing the detailed project plan.
* Solid knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value.
* Managing the change‐control process.
* Monitoring and advising upon project finances.
* Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client through regular meetings and written communications; preparing formal project progress and other reports.
* Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each project are entered into the Turner & Townsend internal database.
* Ensuring prompt client invoicing and utilizing FMS to monitor a project's financial status.
* Identifying ways to improve internal systems and processes and referring ideas to the appropriate line manager.
* Taking a leading role in interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
* SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role and must be adhered to where applicable.
* Complying with the requirements of Turner & Townsend's Business Management Systems including Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management associated with the role.
Qualifications
* Design, management or construction experience gained within the general construction environment.
* A minimum of 2–5 years project management experience, preferably within the above environment.
* Thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from conception, through all operational stages to completion and post‐project review.
* Excellent knowledge and experience of all main project management concepts, tools and techniques.
* Experience leading and facilitating the overall cross‐functional project team for medium‐sized construction projects of medium to high complexity.
* Business development experience, including developing business with existing and new clients and cross‐selling.
* Experience working within the Australian market and/or Australian projects.
* Detailed working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
