Location: St John of God Hospital, Subiaco
Position: Part time (up to full time hours)
Hours: 3-4 days per week (average 30-35 hours per week) plus leave cover

St John of God Eye Clinic is a busy, private specialist practice. We are seeking an experienced Medical Secretary/Receptionist to join our friendly team on a permanent basis. Commencing at the end of January 2026, the role involves working across 3-4 days per week (Tues/Thurs/Fri and alternate Wed). Averaging 30 – 35 hours per week over a 4 week roster (plus leave cover as required). You must be pro-active, accurate, an effective multi-tasker and have an enthusiasm to deliver an excellent patient experience. Providing support to 3 surgeons, you must be able to follow directives and protocols precisely and collaborate effectively with your colleagues.
While training is provided, your previous experience in a busy specialist environment is key. You will be adept at operating a busy reception desk and take responsibility for ensuring that daily tasks are completed. It is essential that you're able to increase or vary your hours during peak periods or when leave cover is required. You can anticipate either early starts or early evening finishes may be required during these periods.
We cannot overstate that leave cover is an essential element of this role. If you have limitations with your availability for planned leave cover, or difficulty with short-notice roster changes, then you will not be suitable for this position - you must have the capacity to provide this flexibility.
