Reporting to the Managing Director of Defence & National Security Solutions, the Senior Account Manager position plays a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer growth objectives through creating new opportunities in existing clients and accounts, prospecting new clients or projects within existing clients.

What’s The Role?

* Key account management and development of our client base to unearth new projects and opportunities.

* Liaising with key government stakeholders to manage and expand the current contracts.

* Identifying and working with key points of contact through Federal Government and Department of Defence to quote on and secure new work.

* Actively contributing to the growth of our sales and market position by exceeding revenue and activity targets and driving sales strategies.

* Identifying new leads and qualifying likelihood of conversion, making new business contacts and building interest in products and solutions, meeting with prospects and asking effective questions to establish business needs and opportunities.

* Qualifying new opportunities by:

o Understanding client’s organisation structure, business model and strategies to align with the sales process.

o Developing bid strategies and identifying key actions to be taken during proposal process to best articulate the client’s requirements.

o Reviewing and responding to Tenders as they are released, or leading the development of unsolicited proposals.

* Coordinating tender response and proposal process as part of a team to deliver professional, comprehensive and ‘client-specific’ response documents.

* Maintaining accurate records to ensure a thorough understanding of a customer and their engagement.

* Effectively collaborating with internal stakeholders including account/relationship managers to ensure effective coverage and management of new accounts.

* Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organisations.

* Enhancing the company’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

* Other duties as required.

What’s Your Edge?

* Minimum of Baseline Security Clearance.

* 5 years’ experience in Sales to Federal Government.

* Proven history of sales within the Department of Defence.

* 5+ years hands-on experience as a Business Development Manager.

* Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Sales or equivalent.

* Experience coordinating tender processes as part of a team across the Government and Private Sector.

* Demonstrated commercial acumen with a solutions-based approach to selling.

* Experience working with clients to investigate, develop and implement or advise on methods for achieving sound software configuration and code.
