Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Spray Painter to join our client's Perth-based workshop team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying coatings and finishes to equipment and components, ensuring work meets quality standards and is completed safely and efficiently. This role offers structured leave and flexible scheduling options.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare surfaces and apply spray coatings to equipment and parts, ensuring a consistent, durable finish.
* Manage paint mixing, matching, and waste disposal processes in line with environmental and safety requirements.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the spray booth and preparation areas, including routine housekeeping tasks.
* Complete and attach required documentation for materials and paint orders, ensuring accurate records of usage and costs.
* Assist with general workshop duties as required, including equipment cleaning, facility upkeep, and supporting other trades.
* Conduct inspections of finished items, coordinate on/off-hire checks, and identify any defects needing rectification.
* Collaborate with team members and supervisors to maintain smooth workflow and address issues promptly.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Trade qualification or demonstrated competency in spray painting or related mechanical/trade fields.
* Current Australian driver's licence and high-risk forklift licence (or ability to obtain).
* Proven experience in a spray painting role, preferably within an industrial or equipment-focused workshop.
* Physically fit and capable of handling manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
* Competence with hand tools and standard workshop procedures, with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
* Strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and commitment to quality outcomes.
* Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening, and hold a valid police clearance (or be willing to obtain).
