The Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Centre offers a culturally safe and welcoming environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can access support for their mental health and social and emotional wellbeing.
The Centre takes a holistic, whole person approach that respects and includes traditional healing methods. Staff are culturally aware, trauma-informed, recovery-focused, and provide warm, non-judgemental, and compassionate care.
Job Description:
As our Community Engagement Manager, you will lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of culturally safe, trauma-informed, and community-led engagement strategies for the Centre. You'll work in close partnership with Elders, families, cultural leaders, and community organisations to strengthen connections, promote mental health literacy, reduce stigma, and bring the Centre's vision to life.
Requirements:
* Leadership experience in community engagement or cultural development within Aboriginal community settings.
* Background in designing and delivering culturally informed programs or events in health, mental health, or community services.
* Proven experience in facilitating co-design with Aboriginal communities.
* Experience representing Aboriginal organisations in forums, partnerships, or interagency collaborations.
* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from regional and remote communities is highly desirable.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Working With Children's Check
* National Police Check
* Working with Vulnerable People Check
* Immunisations in accordance to SA health Immunisation Policy
* Marketing and Communications Qualification or equivalent experience
