About the Role
Curtin University seeks a Communications and Engagement Coordinator to join the John Curtin Gallery team. This is an exciting opportunity to bring storytelling skills to life while promoting a well-regarded arts institution with engaging exhibitions, programs, and the Carrolup Centre for Truth-telling.
The successful candidate will lead communication efforts that engage diverse audiences through traditional and digital media, helping to raise the gallery's profile and create a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement communication strategies to support key priorities and activities.
* Research, write, and edit content for various audiences across print, digital, and social media channels.
* Utilise digital tools and visual media to enhance messaging and engagement.
* Evaluate and refine communication strategies to improve audience reach and impact.
* Collaborate with curatorial staff to develop compelling content that conveys artistic concepts.
* Develop advertising strategies and oversee the creation of promotional materials.
* Coordinate, promote, and manage public programs, including artist talks, panel discussions, and exhibition openings.
Selection Criteria
* A relevant degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related discipline, with relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
* Proven ability to plan, implement, and evaluate communications and engagement strategies, with demonstrated experience managing digital communication channels and web content.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organisation and produce clear, accurate, and timely materials for diverse audiences.
* Creative problem-solving approach to communications challenges.
* Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
* Previous experience in the arts, cultural, or museum sector and/or the tertiary education sector.
* Flexibility to work outside normal office hours when required.
* Experience working on or with Indigenous arts projects (desirable).
