 
        
        The Mountain Heritage Hotel & Falls Mountain Retreat is located in the majestic setting of Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. It offers premier boutique style accommodation, with a scenic view across the Jamison Valley. The hotel now forms part of the ICC Group with expansive hospitality offerings. 
**Key Responsibilities**: 
- Maintain and promote the vision and values of Hotel Mountain Heritage as per all maintenance related policies and procedures. 
- General understanding of how all building, systems and equipment work and interact with each other, ensuring all issues are identified and resolved as quickly as possible. 
- Assist the Chief Engineer with maintenance of plant and equipment so day-to-day operations are unaffected by breakdowns or scheduled maintenance. 
- Build close, positive working relationships with staff & contractors so that all maintenance issues are resolved as a priority. 
- Be available for ‘On-Call’ roster for the purpose of emergency work. Emergency work is considered work that either affects the generation of revenue or affects customers’ comfort. 
- Change rostered start times/RDOs if unscheduled/emergency work is required. 
- Ensure tools and equipment is used correctly and kept secure when not in use. Any faulty or lost tools/equipment is reported to the Chief Engineer immediately. 
- Work productively and provide a secure, secure and harassment free environment for all. 
- Report all hazardous situations to the Chief Engineer/General Manager immediately. 
- Seek approval for all maintenance related purchases. 
- Undertake training/accreditation as required. 
**Essential Skills and Knowledge**: 
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a building maintenance role. 
- Knowledge and ability to rectify issues relating to; plumbing blockages, leaking taps & shower heads, replacing lighting equipment and globes, replacing door handles & locks, troubleshooting minor electrical equipment issues, repairing minor carpentry issues/damage, minor repairs/remedies of kitchen equipment. 
- Hold or have the ability to obtain a White Card. 
- Ability to patch and paint to a high standard. 
- Have the ability to safely climb a ladder or move objects as per safe manual handling procedures. 
- Be able to multitask, prioritise, meet service KPIs and work unsupervised. 
- Excellent attention to detail along with verbal and written communication skills. 
- Ability to problem solve and design temporary work arounds for issues quickly. 
**Desirable Qualifications** 
- Trade qualifications in a related field
