Contracts Manager - Major Construction Projects

Are you an experienced Contracts Manager looking to take ownership of end-to-end contractual, commercial, and project controls functions on complex infrastructure projects? Our client, a respected organisation delivering high-value construction works across PNG, is seeking a skilled professional to lead contract administration, scheduling, reporting, and risk management across multi-disciplinary project teams.
The Opportunity
You will play a pivotal role ensuring all project delivery aligns with contractual obligations, budgets, schedules, and compliance requirements. Working closely with the Project Contracts Manager, engineering teams, procurement, and senior leadership, you'll provide expert oversight of contract performance, schedule integrity, cost control, and stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities
* Draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts, amendments, change orders, and claims
* Maintain correspondence, notifications, documentation, and record-keeping systems
* Develop and manage project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project
* Track progress, analyse variances, and support corrective action planning
* Prepare project reports covering progress, risks, KPIs, cost, and schedule metrics
* Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks
* Ensure compliance with contract terms, safety standards, and PNGCR requirements
* Act as the central point of contact for all contractual matters
About You
* 7+ years' experience in contracts management, project controls, or planning within construction or infrastructure
* Strong knowledge of contract law and standard contract frameworks
* Proficiency with P6 or MS Project
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
* Highly organised, analytical, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments
* Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business OR 10+ years practical experience
