Brisbane Adventist College (BAC) is seeking expressions of interest for a Support Services Manager. This is a full-time role, generally Monday to Friday, but may require some after-hours/weekend event work. While the position is managerial, at times the successful candidate will need to undertake some practical tasks with buses, grounds, and maintenance and as such a trade background and heavy vehicle licence will be highly regarded.It is expected that the successful candidate will maintain consistent positive contact with College leadership, support staff working in the department, other College departments, strategic partners, and College families where relevant.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Business Manager the role includes:
· Organisation of the College transport system
· Organisation and management of bus drivers
· Ongoing maintenance of all College vehicles
· Repair and maintenance of College buildings and infrastructure
· Maintenance and improvement to the grounds and gardens
· Assistance with College events such as athletics carnivals, the College musical, and other events
Key Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have a strong, active commitment to the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, excellent personal presentation, and a warm friendly manner.
Essential experience includes:
· Demonstration of competence in using and learning software packages
· Strong communication and organisation skills
· Eligibility to hold a Heavy Vehicle Licence and Driver Industry Accreditation (this may be obtained after the candidate has been appointed to the position)
· Positive leadership experience
· A trade qualification or be able to demonstrate building maintenance experience
· Operator qualifications for Skid Steers, Boom Lifts, Scissor Lifts, Pressure Cleaners and other industrial equipment
Mandatory Requirements
· Applicant must hold a current Paid Working with Children Check(Blue Card)
