Job Description
HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly clients living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer, you'll be actively involved with a local Christian church.

We're seeking a pastoral care volunteer to visit a lovelywoman once a fortnight for connection, conversation, and shared moments offaith.
She enjoys family catchups, reading, films, and attendingBible study. With a friendly dog by her side and a joyful sense of humour, shewould love someone to listen, laugh, pray, sing hymns, and read Scripture withher.

You'll supplement andcomplement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may:
* Support people to meet their spiritual needs
Skills required for this role:
- High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills.
- Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training- Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer.
Spiritual Care Series North Turramurra - Face to face
When: starts Wednesday 7th May, concludes 2nd July 2025. Note a break for the week 4th June
Time:2:00 – 4:00pm
Where: Leighton Lodge, Nth Turramurra

18 years or older
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
