You will be working on a cruise vessel operating in Darwin Harbour. The position requires a motivated and experienced Deckhand to join our team at the harbour.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Collaborate with the Master and crew to prepare the vessel for cruises, managing berthing, controlling mooring lines, and performing deck rounds while addressing engineering and maintenance needs.
* Deliver high-quality customer service and ensure guest safety by assisting with mobility, following safety procedures from the vessel's Safety Management System (SMS), and conducting lookout duties.
* Perform daily cleaning and housekeeping, assist with food and beverage service, and manage guest requests by communicating specific needs with the office team.
* Maintain logbooks, report safety or environmental concerns to the Vessel Master, manage guest complaints with the Cruise Director, and liaise with office managers on cruise-related matters.
Key skills and qualifications include:
* Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) Certificate of Competency - General Purpose Hand (GPH).
* Coxswain/Master/MED/Radio Operator skills are highly regarded.
* Responsible Service of Alcohol and Food Safety Handling certificates are essential.
* Provide First Aid & CPR is also required.
