**Strategic Sourcing Manager Role at the University of Sydney**
This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity until July 2026. As a Strategic Sourcing Manager within the Procurement Services team, you will play a key role in overseeing the procurement framework and governance.
About the Opportunity
The Procurement Services team at the University of Sydney is seeking a commercially focused Sourcing Manager to partner with the business to drive sourcing outcomes.
This role is part of the ICT Procurement Portfolio, which includes categories such as Software, Cloud, Telecommunications, and related professional services. The sourcing activities are varied and may include solutions for students, researchers, and university operations, supporting both routine activities and transformative technologies aligned with the University's strategic goals.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:
* Project manage multiple sourcing events of varying value and complexity.
* Develop market engagement documents including RFx's, managing responses, evaluating, and recommending.
* Partner with stakeholders across the University, advising on procurement matters and developing value-adding strategies.
* Engage with suppliers and external bodies.
* Contribute to procurement process improvement initiatives.
About You
* You have experience as a Sourcing Manager or similar in a large, complex organization.
* You have experience developing and executing strategic sourcing strategies in regulated environments.
* You have knowledge of procurement processes and sourcing methodologies.
* You can manage multiple sourcing projects with competing deadlines.
* You have experience with RFx development, response management, evaluation, and recommendations.
* You possess commercial acumen, financial modeling, contract negotiation skills, and strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
* You have the ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
* You have experience in ICT procurement (software, cloud, services).
* You have knowledge of NSW Government ICT contracts and frameworks (desirable).
* You have experience with SAP Ariba (desirable).
