Our client is seeking for multiple experienced **ICT/Cyber Security Specialist** at SFIA level 5/6 to join the Directorate of ICT Security Management within ICT Security Branch.

**Cyber Security Compliance**
- 2 x ICT Security Technical Specialist/Analysts at the SCTY5 level
- 2 x ICT Security Technical Specialist/Analysts at the SCTY6 level.

**Cyber Security Management**
- 3 x ICT Security Technical Specialist/Analysts at the SCTY5 level.
- 2 x ICT Security Technical Specialist/Analysts at the SCTY6 level.

**Background**:

- At the Directorate of ICT Security Management (DICTSM) our mission is to positively influence and strengthen the security posture of Defence ICT systems through provision of leadership, guidance, direction and the proactive identification, analysis and remediation, or mitigation, of ICT system vulnerabilities
- As the whole-of-Defence cyber security service provider, the Directorate of ICT Security Management provides leadership, direction, governance and management services for the Defence cybersecurity capability. DICTSM positively influences and strengthens the security posture of Defence ICT systems through the proactive identification, analysis and remediation or mitigation of ICT system vulnerabilities. DICTSM provides advice and guidance to inform risk-based assessments in the development, deployment and maintenance of secure Defence ICT systems and capabilities.
- The Directorate achieves this mission through following three teams headed by Deputy Directors.
- **Cyber Security Compliance**

The main role of Cyber Security Compliance team is to aid protection of the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Defence data- ** Cyber Security Management**

The main role of Cyber Security Management is to provide leadership, guidance and direction to ensure the sound management of Defence ICT Systems security- ** Cyber Security Performance**

The main role of Cyber Security Performance is to provide timely and accurate information to CIOG, Defence, and Government on matters relating to Cyber Security including media inquiry.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitors and influences remediation activities, and reports on the compliance of Defence ICT assets against the ASD's Essential Eight strategies to mitigate cyber security incidents and the Australian Government's Information Security Manual (ISM)
- Monitors and coordinates with system owners on the remediation of vulnerabilities against relevant controls within the ISM to protect against cyber threats, actors, and other malicious attacks affecting the Defence agency
- Provides a whole of Australian Government mandatory requirement to report on Department of Defence's level of compliance in accordance with the Australian Government's Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
- Conducts an enterprise-level vulnerability scanning of the low and high side setting.
- Supports the Deputy Director Cyber Security Compliance, Defence IT Security Adviser (ITSA), and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
- Engages the broader patch community through the monthly Cyber Security Compliance Forum, which focus on the ASD Essential 8, Patching and Deferrals.
- Producing ICT security advisories to communicate specific vulnerabilities across the Single Information Environment (SIE).
- Process requests for non-compliance or patch deferrals from system owners.
- Collaborate with operational items such as DSOC and CTI for security advisories originating from the ACSC and other government agencies;
- Provide security advice and assistance to Defence members.
