The Opportunity
The Team Leader Collections will shape and elevate the adult library collections for the City of Perth, responding to community needs, usage insights, and emerging trends. As a qualified library professional, you'll manage acquisitions and budgets, refine collection processes, and support a small team to deliver high-quality customer service and efficient daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Coordinator Library and Town Hall, you will:
Shape and maintain vibrant adult library collections to a capital city standard, using your professional expertise and insight.Use data, community insight, and emerging trends to drive smart selection, budgeting, and customer-focused collections.Review, develop, and implement collection processes and guidelines, ensuring they remain contemporary and effective.Manage acquisitions and budgets across multiple purchasing streams, delivering the right stock to the right place at the right time.Lead and inspire a small team, championing outstanding customer service, staff development, and seamless day-to-day operations.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Studies.Minimum 3 years' experience in collection management and stock selection.Understanding of WA public library services, including State Library procedures, and familiarity with cataloguing and classification principles.Strong problem-solving, organisational, and customer service skills, with the ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively.
