Chef
$32.00 / hour + 12% Super
* Flexible Monday to Friday 7am - 3pm or 6.30 am - 2.30pm shifts
* Work alongside a supportive and friendly team preparing meals for senior student cafe
* Ditch the car and work close to home in St Kilda with public transport at your doorstep
THE POSITION
* Prepare fresh, nutritious meals for students
* Contribute to menu ideas using local ingredients
* Monitor stock and minimize wastage
* Adhere to hygiene standards and following proper food handling practices
* Deliver healthy choices and guidance to the future generation
THE PERSON
* A qualified Chef with Cert 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery
* Must have previous experience working in a cafe - commercial environment and working in a fast paced busy environment
* Strong understanding of allergen management and food safety
* Passionate about healthy and nutritious food
* All-rounder experience and able to cook Savoury & sweet desserts
* Able to have a valid working with children's check
* Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and operations
* Must be able to work autonomously
* Great customer service as this role will be working in an open kitchen
