About the role
Austek Asphalt Services is seeking an experienced Asphalt Supervisor to join our team based out of either Luscombe or Clontarf, QLD. In this full‐time role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all asphalt‐related activities on construction sites, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards and within budget and timeline.
What you'll be doing
* Supervising and directing a team of asphalt workers, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks
* Monitoring and inspecting asphalt work to ensure adherence to specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards
* Coordinating the delivery of materials, equipment, and resources to construction sites
* Liaising with project managers, engineers, and clients to address any issues or concerns that arise
* Maintaining detailed records of all asphalt‐related activities, including timesheets, material usage, and progress reports
* Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing more efficient work practices
* Ensuring a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and providing training to the team
What we're looking for
* Proven experience as an Asphalt Supervisor or in a similar construction supervisory role, with a minimum of 5 years' experience
* Thorough understanding of asphalt installation methods, materials, and safety requirements
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team
* Excellent problem‐solving and decision‐making skills, with the ability to think critically and adapt to changing circumstances
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety
* Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and technical drawings
* Current construction industry certifications or licences, such as a valid driver's licence and white/blue card
* Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
