About the role
The Special Care Nursery (SCN) is a 8 bed unit, taking babies from 34 weeks gestation. You will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team in providing support and compassionate quality care to our most vulnerable patients.
The Clinical Nurse Educator provides clinical education, training and evaluation of knowledge and skills to promote and support improved nursing care within the Western NSW Local Health District. The role will assist in upskilling nurses across a broad range of proficiencies facilitating learning through a variety of approaches.
As an experienced educator with a sound understanding of learning and assessment principles gained from both experience and education (such as Cert IV in Training and Assessment), you will provide day to day and one‑on‑one clinical education along with in‑services to meet team and individual learning needs, with a focus on new / inexperienced staff.
The SCN is a small, highly skilled team made up of Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses, working closely together as well as with parents and their babies.
The successful applicant will be supported by the Clinical Nursing Unit Managers, covering Paediatrics and SCN.
