Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a dynamic team of urban planners, ensuring that all projects are completed to the highest standard and that the team is equipped with the necessary resources and support to succeed. This role requires a high level of proficiency in research, data analysis, and report writing, as well as a comprehensive understanding of NSW urban planning and environmental legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading and mentoring a team of urban planners to achieve project goals and objectives.
* Providing guidance and support to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete projects successfully.
* Developing and implementing project plans, strategies, and policies to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Managing and coordinating projects, including identifying business resource requirements and developing project budgets.
* Preparing and submitting reports, documents, and other materials as required by clients and stakeholders.
* Undertaking quality reviews of documentation prepared by the team to ensure that it meets or exceeds client expectations.
* Fostering relationships with clients and stakeholders to identify business opportunities and grow the team's workload.
* Recruiting, training, and developing junior staff to ensure that the team has the necessary skills and expertise to deliver high-quality projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Architecture/Urban Design or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
* Proven leadership experience in a consultancy environment or similar.
* High-level proficiency in research, data analysis, and report writing.
* Comprehensive understanding of NSW urban planning and environmental legislation.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
* Self-motivated and self-directed, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Interest in working on a broad variety of projects, with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
* Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices.
