KBSS Engineering is looking for experienced Local Boilermaker Welder (Special Class Welder) and Pressure Welder who are proficient and specialised in welding. This role focuses on high-quality welding for critical projects, including piping, pressure vessels, and structural components. If you are passionate about producing high quality work this is a great opportunity to join a dynamic workshop who supports both onshore and offshore projects.
This role is only suitable for candidates who already reside in Karratha or the Pilbara region.
Key Responsibilities
* Coded Welding Expertise: Perform precise welds that meet industry standards (ASME, AS/NZS, AWS) for critical applications, piping & structural.
* Welding and Fabrication: Use various welding techniques (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, MMAW) across ranging material (SS, Duplex, CrMo, CuNi, Aluminium, Carbon).
* Certifications and Compliance: Maintain coded welding certifications, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and safety codes.
* Quality Control: Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet strict quality requirements, working closely with quality control personnel.
* Interpret Technical & Isometric Drawings: Ability to interpret and work to structural & isometric drawings
* Safety and Equipment Use: Follow all safety procedures, use proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure welding equipment is well-maintained.
Qualifications & Skills
* Trade Qualification: Certified Boilermaker or Welder (Certificate III in Engineering or equivalent). (Preferred, not essential)
* Coded Welding Experience: Experienced in specialised welding (ASME, AS/NZS, AWS).
* Welding Skills: Proficiency in GMAW, GTAW, FCAW and MMAW with strong attention to detail.
* Safety Focus: Commitment to safe welding practices and a strong understanding of welding safety standards.
* Continual Improvement: The right candidate will have a continual improvement mindset and will be motivated by growth opportunities.
* Experience in industries such as oil & gas, mining, or construction.
