We are a large commercial cleaning company looking for an experienced Payroll Assistant to join our South Melbourne Head Office team.

**Job Description**:
**The role**

You will part of our amazing payroll team of 10 people. Working closely together, will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of various payroll tasks. You'll also work with several internal departments to provide accurate and effective payroll services to our employees across Australia.

This role will be a full-time, 12-month contract position based at our National Support Office in South Melbourne with a mix of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Day-to-day payroll processing enquiries,
- Setting up new employees and updated any changes as needed,
- Updating leave log,
- Checking and uploading timesheets,
- Issuing employment letters,
- Ensuring the system is kept up to date,
- Processing online visa checks,
- Assisting with month end, year-end & other reporting and reconciliation as required.
- Ad hoc project and office support as required.
- Have high proficiency in MS Excel.
- Be experienced using MicrOpay or alternate Payroll System.
- Have knowledge in interpreting multiple awards.
- Possess strong verbal and written skills.
- Have accurate data entry skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Hold exceptional organisational skills.
- Be able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
