Agro Regional Australia Pty Ltd, based in Manildra, NSW, is urgently seeking an experienced Agricultural Consultant to initiate and lead operations on our 858-acre farm in Pilliga, NSW. This currently non-operational farm will focus on cultivating high-quality vegetables, flowers, and fruit trees in advanced greenhouse facilities, alongside livestock farming (cows, sheep, and goats). The Agricultural Consultant will play a critical role in establishing sustainable farming practices, driving productivity, and ensuring profitability from the outset.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of soil quality, crop health, and pest/disease control to establish and optimize farming operations.
Provide expert guidance on crop selection, irrigation, fertilization, and harvesting techniques to launch and sustain production.
Develop and implement crop rotation plans to ensure long-term soil health and farm sustainability.
Monitor weather patterns and recommend optimal planting and harvesting schedules to maximize future yields.
Design strategies to manage and minimize farm expenses, including equipment setup, labor costs, and efficient use of fertilizers and pesticides.
Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending their adoption to enhance farm operations.
Train and support future farm staff on agricultural best practices and safety protocols.
REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in agricultural consulting or farm management, preferably with experience starting or scaling farm operations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges in a new farm setup.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with management and train future staff.
In-depth knowledge of horticultural practices, including soil management, crop rotation, and pest/disease control.
Understanding of farm economics and ability to develop strategies for profitability.
Ability to work independently in a startup environment and as part of a growing team.
