The Senior Media Planner will lead the strategy and activation of programmatic media campaigns to achieve client marketing and business objectives. In this role, you will be expected to translate client briefs into rigorous, insight-led media strategies before moving into execution. You will work closely and collaboratively with internal client service and data team to deliver a cohesive, full-funnel media plan, whilst championing Sparro's media best practices and offering.

This role's objectives are to:

* Develop and own media plans that are anchored in audience insight, platform data and client business objectives beyond tactical execution.
* Successfully manage relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted strategic partner who can translate business goals into programmatic investment decisions.
* Meet and exceed client KPIs through the disciplined development, implementation and ongoing optimisation of programmatic strategies & tactics.
* Continually interrogate skills, experience and working practices to improve problem solving, digital skills, organisation and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

* Lead the development of media plans and channel plans for a portfolio of high-value clients, including audience architecture, inventory mix, format selection and budget allocation.
* Translate client briefs into structured media plans with clear rationale, KPIs, measurement frameworks and phased testing roadmaps.
* Conduct audience, market and competitive analysis to inform planning recommendations and identify growth opportunities.
* Extract and deliver actionable insights from campaign reports, and implement them where required.
* Prepare, present and contribute in client reporting, quarterly/annual business reviews and proactives; identifying and communicating new opportunities, value delivered, and strategic direction.
* Liaise with key clients on a day-to-day basis, communicating proactively on performance, strategy shifts and new opportunities.
* Assist Client Partners, Directors and Leads with new business or client growth opportunities.
* Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing by developing frameworks, training, best practices and processes that elevate media planning capability across the agency.

Skills

* Effective client, stakeholder and staff management.
* Proven track record managing significant programmatic budgets ($1M+ annually) across multiple clients or business units.
* Demonstrate deep knowledge of the media landscape; from its capabilities, ecosystem, to their role in achieving clients' business/marketing objectives and measure of successes.
* Strong analytical capability; comfortable interpreting performance data, building insights and making evidence-based decisions.
* Advanced ability to autonomously plan, strategise, and mobilise to achieve a project.
* Confident and considered approach to problem solving and project management.
* Willing emphasis on team by having the ability to effectively share knowledge wherever possible.
* 4-6 years experience in a digital media planning role within an agency or in‐house trading desk.

Bonus Skills

* Intermediate proficiency with DV360, The Trade Desk, or similar DSPs.
* Exposure with Google Ads or Meta Ads.
* Understanding of brand tracking measurement, lift studies, or digital attribution models.
