Primary objective
Provide a range of services associated with the issuing of licences, permits, occupational registrations and authorities across a broad range of legislative frameworks administrated by the work unit.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Under the direction of the Licensing Supervisor or Licensing Officers, process licence applications and permits, including assessment and recommendation for grant or refusal.
* Update and maintain the licensing systems and databases for regulatory and performance reporting requirements.
* Provide advice to applicants and other stakeholders regarding licence and permit applications/renewals and on other matters regulated by the licensing unit.
* Prepare licensing related correspondence, including renewal advice.
* Provide assistance in the regulation and monitoring of incorporated Associations, and other regulated businesses, entities, and occupations.
* Participate in Licensing Compliance Programs.
* Prepare information for the Director and Delegates as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
* Demonstrated integrity and ability to deal with confidential and sensitive issues with discretion.
* Ability to interpret and apply legislation within a regulatory framework.
* Experience using various software packages including spreadsheets and database applications.
* Sound oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
* Sound organisation skills, ability to use initiative and work with limited supervision to meet deadlines.
Desirable
* Understanding and/or experience working in a regulatory legislative environment.
