Overview
We are seeking a Fraud Architect to lead the design, development, and optimisation of fraud detection and prevention systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with fraud risk engine product integration, fraud detection techniques, and a strong understanding of financial crime prevention strategies - including integrating fraud systems with cloud-based data stores like AWS.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect scalable and effective fraud risk management solutions utilising advanced fraud detection engines.
- Lead the integration of fraud risk engines with existing transaction processing and cloud-based data stores such as AWS S3, Aurora, Redshift, DynamoDB, and stream processing using AWS Kinesis, Kafka, etc.
- Analyse fraud patterns and collaborate with data science teams to develop machine learning models for fraud detection.
- Develop and document fraud prevention strategies, rules, and thresholds, ensuring alignment with compliance standards.
- Implement data pipelines and workflows to support real-time fraud detection and reporting using AWS services.
- Continuously monitor, evaluate, and improve the effectiveness of fraud detection systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, data science, compliance, and business units to implement new fraud prevention initiatives.
- Stay updated on emerging fraud trends, techniques, and regulatory changes impacting fraud risk management.
- Provide expertise during audits and compliance reviews related to fraud prevention controls.
Skills and Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with fraud risk engines such as Quantexa, Palantir, FICO, SAS, and Feedzai.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-based platforms and tools, with experience using AWS SageMaker for model development and deployment.
- Proficiency in Python, R, and other programming languages used for fraud analytics and modelling.
- Deep understanding of fraud detection techniques, rule engines, and real-time decisioning.
