As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Head of Food Safety and Sustainability to lead the charge in protecting our products, people, and planet.

About the Role

As the Head of Food Safety and Sustainability, you’ll play a critical leadership role ensuring our production facilities, restaurants, and suppliers meet the highest standards of food safety and environmental responsibility. You’ll drive best-practice programs across compliance, quality assurance, and sustainability, with a strong focus on operations at our EJ Supplies manufacturing sites.

You’ll work cross-functionally with factory teams, procurement, and leadership to safeguard product quality, maintain regulatory compliance, and champion sustainability initiatives that make a real difference.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Lead and implement robust food safety programs (HACCP, GMPs, SOPs) across all manufacturing operations.
* Conduct audits, inspections, and manage incident responses with a proactive approach.
* Oversee quality assurance processes, ensuring consistency, traceability, and compliance.
* Drive sustainability initiatives to reduce waste, water, and energy usage while supporting our ESG goals.
* Collaborate with suppliers to ensure safety and sustainability standards are met.
* Provide leadership, training, and coaching to build a culture of safety and quality.
* Prepare for and manage third-party audits, customer inspections, and regulatory reviews.
* Report key food safety and sustainability metrics to the Executive Team.

What You’ll Bring

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or similar.
* 8 to 12 years’ experience in food safety, quality assurance, and sustainability, ideally in food manufacturing.
* Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, Australian and New Zealand Food Standards, and sustainability compliance.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels, from the factory floor to the boardroom.
* Analytical, solutions-focused, and passionate about continuous improvement.
* HACCP, SQF, PCQI, or LEED certifications are preferred.
